Last month we spent three days on the coast shooting an editorial story built entirely around weather – fog in the morning, hard light at noon, and a storm that rolled in right on the last afternoon.
Working around weather instead of against it changed how the whole set was styled. Wardrobe leaned into heavier fabrics that held their shape in the wind, and the palette followed the sky rather than fighting it: grey and navy in the fog, warm sand tones once the sun broke through.
The biggest lesson from the trip: build in a full spare day. Two of our three planned locations were unusable on day one because of the tide, and having slack in the schedule is what saved the story.
